A Week Away | Dominican Republic {2015}

January 22, 2015

Where do I even begin with this trip?!? I had the opportunity to return to one of my favorite places in the world a few weeks ago! The trip had a little bit of a rocky start, to say the least. It involved an expired passport, numerous cab rides through the windy city, filling out form after form, many hours on my knees, and an unexpected night alone in Chicago. But through all that stress and chaos the faithfulness of God, in my life, was made extremely clear and this trip was definitely one worth fighting for. Again it is hard for me to put into words what weeks like these mean to me. So I spend my time trying to capture every little smile, laugh, hug, and new friendships forming! One of the things that makes me so passionate about photography is that the things I might not be able to express in word, I can bring to life through an image captured. And having all these wonderful memories to stare with you makes coming back to reality just a little bit easier. As I look back on my week away one thing is made very clear to me! That we serve a God that “is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.” (Ephesians 3:20) I see him working wonders in my life through this place and am so blessed by the people I have met along the way.
