Those of you who know anything about be know that there are VERY few things I, even remotely, like about winter. And every year the urge to just stay in my house and “hibernate” through this frozen season! But one of the few things that make the season bearable is the beautiful backdrops that are made! Images turn out great, if you can find models to braves frostbite for you. That being said I took full advantage of the snow day this week and my two live in models! So thankful for their willingness to trudge through the snow in this arctic weather just to get a few fun shots! They are the best. Enjoy Savannah and Angie!
And here are a few shots of what goes on behind the scenes of this arctic shoots! There is a lot of shivering, warming red noses, and holding your breath (so you can’t see it on the camera).
And there is the occasional piggy back ride through drifts for those with out the proper footwear.
And this shoot the reality of the situation hit me. The girls got to trot around with their hair and makeup all done up and their sparkly outfits and shoes. I on the other hand was trudging paths through snowdrifts up to my knees. Wearing knee hit rubber, farm boots, jeans full of holes, and an old sweatshirt. Being a photographer is not always glamorous. It’s a lot of juggling coats and hair brushes for your models, while trying to find the perfect angle for the shot! Most of the time I wish I had about 5 more hands 🙂 But I wouldn’t trade what I do for anything!
